Environmental sustainability
At the Algol Group, the key areas of environmental sustainability are climate, pollution, and resource use and the circular economy.

Climate change
In line with our Code of Business Conduct, we continuously analyse our carbon footprint, with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
Algol ensures that all Group companies have first mapped their emissions, climate targets and plans, after which the Group-wide long-term plan to limit global warming to 1.5 °C in line with the Paris Agreement will be defined.
The Algol Group’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions have already been mapped. Since 2024, Algol’s own production sites use 100% carbon-neutral electricity.
The majority of the emissions in the Algol Group’s operations are generated as indirect emissions (Scope 3 of the GHG protocol) which mapped started in 2023. The carbon footprint assessment for Scope 3 emissions has been initiated by Algol Chemicals.

State of environment
The Algol Group is committed to preventing pollution and monitoring pollution-related policies. We prevent environmental pollution and minimise environmental impacts by promoting recycling and reducing waste. We use a safety management system to prepare for emergencies and various possible accident scenarios.
Resource use and the circular economy
We comply with environmental protection legislation and regulations, strive to minimise the environmental impact of our operations, and utilise natural resources efficiently.
