Algol Oy is donating a total of EUR 50,000 to universities in various fields this autumn. The donations will be made to Hanken School of Economics, the University of Helsinki, the University of the Arts Helsinki and Åbo Akademi University. In addition, the company made a donation of EUR 15,000 earlier this year to a globally unique professorship in ownership that is being established at Aalto University.

With these donations, Algol wants to actively promote high-quality Finnish higher education and research, as well as achievements in science and the arts.

“It is important that the business community is involved in supporting culture and the arts and funding excellence. High-quality research and teaching are also vital in terms of our own operating environment and long-term success,” says Algol Group CEO Alexander Bargum.

The impact of the donations being made this autumn will be further increased by the Finnish Government’s matched funding scheme for 2020-2022. According to the scheme, the State will give a sum of money for each donated euro that the universities raise.
