Anonymous reporting channel mandatory by the end of the year - Whistleblowing service has been in use in Algol since 2017
The new EU wide whistleblowing directive will be mandatory by the end of this year for companies and public administrations employing more than 50 people. The basic elements of the directive are disclosure of irregularities and protection of whistleblowers.
Whistleblowing service has been in use in Algol Group since 2017. The channel was opened also to our customers and other stakeholders a year ago.
It is not always possible to report a suspicious situation in your own name. Personnel or partners may fear that reporting the misconduct could cause problems. In these situations, the WhistleB channel can be used. WhistleB channel is anonymous unless the notifier decides to include his or her own name.
The whistleblowing reporting channel is a part of responsible business
We at the Algol Group are committed to acting responsibly and honestly. Algol’s Code of Business Conduct guides all our operations.
“It is important to us that each and every Algol employee can safely report any activities that may be counter to our Code of Business Conduct and any misconduct that requires addressing. In addition to our personnel, a whistleblowing notification channel is also an important tool for us to maintain the trust of our customers and other stakeholders”, says Tor Edgren, Group Corporate Responsibility Manager, Algol Oy.
